Project Overview
The Pirana Sewage Treatment Plant in Ahmedabad is a pioneering project in large-scale wastewater management. Commissioned by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, it is India’s first and largest sewage treatment facility based on the Conventional Activated Sludge Process (CASP) with fine bubble diffused aeration.
With a treatment capacity of 180 million liters per day (MLD), the plant significantly improves the quality of treated effluent while reducing pollution in nearby water bodies. The integration of a fully automated Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system allows for real-time monitoring, process optimisation, and efficient plant management.
