Design, Build & Operate (DBO) Tertiary Treatment
Turnkey DBO (with O&M)
40 MLD (Net Output of High-Quality Industrial Water)
Completed in 2020 for Surat Municipal Corporation, this key project expanded Surat’s wastewater reuse network with a 40 MLD Tertiary Treatment Plant (TTP) at Dindoli. It processes secondary treated sewage using Ultrafiltration (UF) followed by Reverse Osmosis (RO) to deliver high-quality industrial-grade water (low TDS, BOD, color, and contaminants).
Supplied to textile and other industries, it reduces freshwater demand, generates revenue for SMC through water sales, and contributes to the city’s sustainable model — part of the 115 MLD total reuse capacity across Bamroli, Dindoli, and related sites. The plant exemplifies efficient, automated membrane technology for circular water management in urban India.
Primary aims:
Major hurdles:
Core setup: UF (PES In-Out modules, e.g., DuPont tech) for solids/microbial removal and RO for dissolved salts/TDS reduction, with chlorination/chemical dosing for bio-fouling control.
Highlights:
This delivers dependable, revenue-positive reuse aligned with Surat’s leadership in water recycling.
